Privacy policy

Please read and agree to the Privacy policy.

Synergy respects the confidentiality of your personal information. We use the following guidelines to protect any information you provide to us when you use the Synergy web site.

Our aim is to use any confidential information we collect from you to:

  • provide you with the service you have requested;
  • allow us to develop new products and services to meet your needs;
  • and allow us to communicate with you effectively.

You are able to indicate whether or not you wish to receive this communication from us.

We do not sell or give to other persons or organisations lists containing your personal information.

We will not disclose any personal particulars we hold about you to any third person without your written consent or your implied consent. You give implied consent when you indicate to us that you wish to obtain information about goods or services supplied by others.

We protect your privacy by restricting access to your personal information to those staff who need it, either to process information or to provide you with the services you have asked for.

When you visit the Synergy site, we may consider which pages you visit to help us determine which parts of the site you value, so that we can build and develop our web site to best meet your needs.

From time to time we may undertake customer surveys to collect statistics about our customers for research and product development purposes. You are free to decide whether or not to participate in these surveys.

Other Considerations:

Banner Ads and Cookies

When you browse synergy.net.au and have not registered for any online service from Synergy, you browse anonymously. Personal information - such as your name, address, phone number or Email address - is not collected as you browse. Synergy does, however, use "cookies" to collect information about how our site is used. Information, such as the server your computer is logged onto, your browser type (for example, Netscape or Internet Explorer), and whether you responded to a Synergy banner ad or Email is collected and tracked in aggregate. This information is used for the purpose of measuring response rates to banner ads and Email offers.

Online Product or Service Registration

In order to provide you with a particular product or service online, we may request that you voluntarily supply us with personal information, including your Email address and account number (if you are a Synergy customer), for purposes such as correspondence, site registration, checking your bill, making a purchase, or participating in online surveys and enabling us to provide an online product or service to you in an efficient manner.

If you are known to us as a registered user of a Synergy online service, we may combine information about your use of the Synergy website and the online product or service you utilise with certain other online and offline information we have about you as a Synergy customer and information you have provided to us as well as information available from external sources, such as census bureau data, in order to customise your online experience and present you with relevant online and offline offers and updates. We also use a "cookie" to enable our server to recognise you as a registered Synergy online service user when you re-enter our site.

Cookie Placement

Cookies were originally designed to help a Web site distinguish a user's browser as a previous visitor and thus save and remember any preferences that may have been set while the user was browsing the site. A cookie is a small string of text that a Web site can send to your browser. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from your hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or capture your Email address. Currently, Web sites use cookies to enhance the user's visit; in general, cookies can securely store a user's ID and password, personalise home pages, identify which parts of a site have been visited or keep track of selections in a "shopping cart."

Permission Marketing

We may use information you have given us to, for example, provide a service, ensure proper billing, measure consumer interest in our various services and inform you about products and services. If you provide us with your Email address, or have done so in the past, or if we obtain your Email address from another source, we may send you Email offers. These offers may be based on information you provided in your initial transaction with us, in surveys, from information that may indicate purchasing preferences and lifestyle, as well as information available from external sources, such as census bureau data. These Email offers come directly from Synergy.

When we send Emails to you, we may be able to identify information about your Email address, such as whether you can read graphic-rich html Emails. If your Email address is html-enabled, we may choose to send you graphic-rich html Emails.

Please note that we do not provide your Email address to our business partners. However, we may send you offers on behalf of our business partners. Keep in mind that if you take advantage of an offer from a Synergy business partner and become their customer, they may independently wish to send offers to you. In this case, you will need to inform them separately if you wish to decline receiving future offers from them.

Our goal is to deliver offers to people who we believe will find them of value. Offers are developed and managed under strict conditions designed to safeguard the security and privacy of customer personal information.

Declining Email Offers

Synergy provides customers with an easy means to decline receiving Email offers. Although some customers tell us they appreciate receiving notice of these carefully designed opportunities, we recognise the importance of providing you with choices. At any time, you may request to discontinue receiving these offers from us by simply replying to the Email and informing us of your preferences. All Email offers that you receive from Synergy will inform you of how to decline receiving further Email offers.

Detailed visitor tracking

Synergy respects your right to privacy at all times. This includes the time you spend with us here, on the Synergy website. Each time you come to our Web site, you may provide two levels of information about your visit:

Statistics collected on an aggregate basis as you browse the site, and

Personal information you knowingly choose to furnish.

We want you to be aware of how we handle this information.

As you browse the site, Synergy's computer collects information about your visit, not about you personally. We monitor statistics such as:

  • How many people visit our site
  • How many people return to our site
  • hich pages people visit on our site
Where people were before they came to synergy.net.au
The number of people who leave to visit another site promoted on the Synergy website

This information is collected on an aggregate basis. No personal information is associated with the statistics. For example, while we can determine that on a specific day the site had thousands of visitors, we do not know anything about those visitors in terms of email address or any other personal data.

Different technologies are used to collect aggregate statistics. These include: cookies and web server logs. Web server logs tell which pages are more and less popular in our site and where people were before they came to the Synergy website. Cookies tell how many people visit Synergy's site, how many people return to our site, and what language preferences our users have.

These statistics are used to monitor traffic so we can effectively handle site capacity. The statistics also help us determine which parts of the site are most popular. With this information we can continually improve the Synergy site to better meet the needs of customers.
